The Paralympic gold medallist was last week convicted of murdering girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp and was also granted bail.

Pistorius was initially charged with the culpable homicide of Steenkamp, whom he killed by firing shots through a locked bathroom door in February 2013, and was handed a five-year jail term.

He was released on house arrest this Octoberafter serving one fifth of his sentence, but, last week, South Africa's Supreme Court of Appeal ruled his initial conviction should be changed to murder, which carries a minimum jail sentence of 15 years.

He returned to court for a bail hearing on Tuesday, with judge Aubrey Ledwaba accepting the defence's request for the South African to remain under house arrest, with permission to leave the house every day between 07:00 and 12:00 unrevoked.
