Saracens to sign Alex Lozowski from Wasps

Premiership champions Saracens have bolstered their fly-half options for the 2016-17 season with the signing of Wasps youngster Alex Lozowski.

England star Owen Farrell is Saracens' first choice at number 10, but with record Premiership points-scorer Charlie Hodgson set to retire from playing at the end of the campaign, the title-holders have moved to add cover.

Former Yorkshire Carnegie fly-half Lozowski, 22, will move to Allianz Park on what Saracens called a "multi-year deal" at the end of his third season in Wasps colours.

"We are delighted to bring Alex to the club next season. He is a very exciting player who we believe will add a lot to our squad," director of rugby Mark McCall told Saracens' official website.

"He is another young English player we can add to a squad that already has plenty of home-grown talent, and we are looking forward to seeing Alex develop both on and off the pitch."

Lozowski added: "I'm very excited to be joining up with Saracens and believe that my ambitions as a player match those of the club.

"Saracens already have an outstanding squad of players, which includes a core of exciting young English talent. The environment and coaching match the quality of the squad, so it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down."

Saracens are top of the Premiership after nine games despite seeing their unbeaten start to the season ended by rivals Harlequins on Saturday.

Fiji sevens winger Savenaca Rawaca is also set to move to Saracens for next season.

The 24-year-old was also a part of his national team's squad for last year's Rugby World Cup.
