Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has laid down a challenge to Tyson Fury, claiming his style "would absolutely murder" that of the current WBA Super, IBF and WBO champion.

Haye announced last week that he is to return to the sport with a fight against Mark de Mori in January, before Fury shocked the boxing world in defeating Wladimir Kitschko by virtue of a unanimous points decision in Dusseldorf on Saturday.

Fury - who saw Haye pull out of two fights against him in 2013 - has promised to never fight his fellow Brit, whom he described as a "pretender" and a "fraud".

And Haye believes Fury's reluctance to step into the ring stems from a fear of being beaten.

"He knows that my style would absolutely murder his style," he said. "He has to realise I'm not after him, I'm after what he has - the belts.

"It says a lot about a new champion that he's saying he won't fight the man who would generate the most amount of interest and money, and would be the biggest possible fight on the planet for him."
