David Haye says "there is no doubt" he will fight fellow Briton Anthony Joshua.

Joshua is looking to extend his undefeated record when he takes on fellow unbeaten heavyweight Dillian Whyte for the British and Commonwealth title at London's O2 Arena on Saturday.

And former heavyweight champion Haye, who returns to action against Mark de Mori on January 16, believes that a showdown with the 26-year-old is inevitable providing they both remain in the hunt for world titles.

Speaking at the Joshua-Whyte pre-fight weigh-in, Haye said: "He [Joshua] does everything he needs to do to get the victories.

"He's in fantastic condition, a former Olympic champion, he's fighting undefeated fighters, and the last one he fought he knocked him out pretty cleanly.

"This for me is going to show exactly where he is. If he can do the same type of performance as he done in his last fight, that says he is one of the best heavyweights on the planet.

"Hopefully I get through my fights, he gets through his fights. Without a doubt our paths are going to cross whether it is for a world title, an eliminator for a world title. If he keeps doing what he's doing, there is no doubt that we will fight at some stage."

Joshua, who has won all 14 of his previous fights by KO, agreed that a clash with Haye is definitely on the cards.

"As he said, as a fighting mentality we both have got work to do beforehand, but some time down the line our paths will cross," he added.

"Whatever what it's for, you've got two great athletes, so you heard it here first."
