In the run up to Miss Universe 2015, the contestants shared their no makeup selfies as part of the #ConfidentlyBeautiful campaign.
The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) insists the campaign isn’t here to make us lesser mortals feel envious and insecure.
Rather, they says it aims to use ‘its global grassroots reach to empower women to be self-confident and strive to be their personal best. MUO believes that every woman should be “Confidently Beautiful”.’
Which is a quite a nice message really.
It reminds us that being happy with who we are is the real key to being beautiful. Though it does help if you’re deemed beautiful enough to be a contestant in Miss Universe:
