The first time I heard this was in a movie (I can’t remember the name now). I was watching with my girlfriend and her boyfriend in her father’s sitting room and I was so embarrassed when my friend’s boyfriend asked if I knew what it was. What was more embarrassing than my ignorance (or naivety if you please) was that I actually thought Pina Colada was a sexual word!

For two reasons – the way the guy in the movie said it with mischief and then not wanting to sound ‘not-in-touch’ to my friend and hers. It was a mightily awkward moment, my friend’s boyfriend went home shortly...I ‘goofed’ but then I learned what Pina Colada was. Fast forward to today – I want to teach what I did not know so you don’t have to make my mistake.
