Zimmerman, who was acquitted of murder over the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in 2013, was arrested at about 10pm on Friday, January 9.
The 31-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence with a weapon, has been jailed at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility in the state.
Zimmerman has been accused of domestic violence twice since his acquittal but no charges were filed in either case.
