Bolgatanga Senior High Closed Down After Student Riots

Bolgatanga Senior High in the Upper East Region has been closed down by the school authorities indefinitely. This according to the school authorities became very necessary due to rising tension after a student died on campus Monday.

Apparently, Thomas Apana, the school's headmaster had refused to allow the students assist a the deceased, who had fallen and sustained severe head injuries. To worsen issues, the said student was being chased by teachers to appear at the school's early morning assembly.

In a report on Joy News, the decision to close down the school came after the enraged students decided to burn down a vehicle belonging to the assistant headmaster of the school.

Senior House Master of the school Stephen Awasnaab uncertain when the students will be called back to school.

The accused headmaster has, however, denied claims by the students and accused the students of framing him.
