Josef Newgarden won for a second time in the 2015 IndyCar season, reigning at the Indy Toronto in a return to form.

Newgarden, for Carpenter Fisher Hartman Racing, came to Canada having not finished better than eighth since his win at the Grand Prixof Alabama.

However, the American led a CFH Racing one-two finish as team-mate Luca Filippi joined him on the podium at Exhibition Place in Ontario.

"I'm so happy we were able to get a win, but a one-two it's just amazing because Luca is such a star," said Newgarden, who beat Filippi by 1.4485 seconds.

"Just an amazing team effort. I'm definitely excited because this is Toronto and this is an IndyCar town."

Helio Castroneves finished third in the 85-lap race, while Team Penske team-mate Will Power was fourth - the Australian slowly closing the gap on championship leader Juan Pablo Montoya, who was seventh.

Montoya (374 points) still has a comfortable lead on Power (347), while Scott Dixon - eighth on Sunday - is further back on 329 points.
