In Nordqvist's native Sweden, Sunday was Mother's Day - and the 27-year-old followed up her winning putt on 18 at the Stockton Seaview Golf Club in New Jersey with a hug for her Mum.

"I couldn't have given her a better present than to spend this day with her," Nordqvist said.

"I'm just speechless right now. I fought hard today and can't believe I'm sitting here with the trophy."

Nordqvist carded a final-round two-under-par 69 to finish on eight-under overall, and seal her fifth career LPGA title.

The round capped of a consistent week, which saw her shoot 67-69 in the opening two rounds before her solid finish to the 54-hole tournament.

She finished one shot clear of Christel Boeljon, the Dutchwoman's 68 leaving her at seven under.

Overnight leader Morgan Pressel could not replicate her two under-par rounds prior, hitting a two-over 73 to finish three shots off the pace in a tie for third with Kelly Shon (70) and Austin Ernst (64).

Karrie Webb (66) and Park Inbee (68) were among a group of five players tied for fifth.

Australian Webb, the 2013 champion, shot into the top five from a share of 40th heading into the final round, although she was outdone on the day by Ernst - the American started the day in a tie for 71st before rocketing up the leaderboard.

Defending and two-time champion Stacy Lewis had a week to forget, shooting rounds of 72-73-70 to finish in a tie for 51st.
