Second Edition of Ogyeahoho Science & Tech Fair Slated for 6th to 10th October

Following a highly successful maiden edition in 2024, which attracted over 2,250 students from 50 schools, the Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair will return from October 6th to 10th, 2025, to selected senior high schools in the Western North Region. The initiative, spearheaded by Avance Media, continues to build on its mission to expand access to STEM education in underserved communities.

Held under the visionary leadership of Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, Paramount Chief of the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area and President of the National House of Chiefs, the fair seeks to provide students with hands-on exposure to modern technologies that many have never encountered in their schools or communities.

This year’s edition will be held in three sessions across three major host schools, each serving students within their districts:

Speaking ahead of the event, Ifeanyi Ahyia Adjei, Project Lead for the Ogyeahoho Science and Technology Fair, said: “The 2025 fair is targeting over 5,000 students, providing them with practical exposure to emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, drone innovation, STEMAIDE automation, physical computing, scratch programming, coding and software development, 3D printing, virtual reality, hands-on science experiments and career mentorship”.

Ifeanyi also emphasised that the fair is designed as an interactive learning platform, not an exhibition, giving students access to tools and technologies they may never have experienced in their schools or communities.

With growing interest from schools and communities, the Ogyeahoho Science & Tech Fair is positioning Western North as a rising hub for STEM education and innovation. The organisers are calling on additional partners, institutions, and development agencies to join in scaling the impact in the years ahead.
