Ghana striker Jordan Ayew was benched again on Saturday in the English Premier League when Aston Villa locked horns against Sunderland.

The Aston Villa forward made starts against AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United in the opening two games for his side but was an unused substitute in their last Premier League against clash Crystal Palace last Sunday.

And against the Black Cats at the Villa Park, the Ghana international was aagin relegated to the bench as Tim Sherwood's side were held to a 2-2 draw.

A Jeremain Lens and Yann M'Villa goals gave the visitors a point, after two Scott Sinclair goals had given the hosts a first-half lead.
