The 26-year-old, who infamously failed to play a single minute of Ghana's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Gabon, had his contract mutually terminated by South African side Orlando Pirates.
He joins the 7-time Swedish champions in a two-year-deal, following a trial period of one week, where he also played in a friendly.

“Edwin is a top player. He is overqualified for the league but he shall serve them on a short term and then move on to a bigger platform,” said Ryan Harrslief of Spain-based Bigtime Sport, the agency that referred the Ghana defender.
Helsingborgs currently feature in the Superettan, Sweden's second tier, after getting relegated from the topflight named Allsvenskan last year.

“The senior international looks to help the club gain promotion this season back to the Allsvenskan," Harrslief added.
