Owen Farrell replaces George Ford in England XV

Farrell will feature in a much-altered midfield that will also see cross-code star Sam Burgess start at inside centre " replacing the injured Jonathan Joseph.

Despite making sloppy errors from the bench against Fiji in the tournament opener last week, Burgess' brutish style may make for some spectacular action against a Wales side well-known for their physicality in defence and attack.

Farrell was, however, impressive as a replacement in the first Pool A clash, which saw England just secure a bonus-point 35-11 win with the last play of the match, and has been rewarded with the number 10 jersey by coach Stuart Lancaster.

Lancaster told England Rugby's website: "We have a lot of respect for the Wales coaching team and their players.

"They are a high-quality side and I am sure it will be some occasion on Saturday evening.

"The support at Twickenham last week was incredible with the crowd really getting behind us.

"We will need them again this week to lift the players against a tough Wales team."

Billy Vunipola is the third change made by Lancaster to the Fiji XV, replacing Ben Morgan at number eight.
