Aisha Huang, the Chinese woman allegedly behind the booming illegal mining (galamsey) in the Ashanti, Western and Eastern regions has been granted bail in the sum of 500,000 by an Accra High Court.
She is to provide two sureties.

Ms Huang is also to report to the Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Immigration Service twice a week for further investigations.
According to the presiding judge, Justice Ekow Baiden the prosecution failed to convince the court that Aisha and the other four suspects will interfere in investigation, as stated in the argument opposing the bail.

Ms Huang is also to hand over her passport and other travelling documents to the court registry.
Aisha was remanded in prison custody, alongside four other Chinese nationals, after they were arrested by the Ghana Immigration Service for their alleged involvement in illegal mining in an area belonging to the Volta Resources Company Limited.
