The 2015 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) is scheduled to start nationwide on Monday, June 15.
438,030 candidates write BECE today
A total of 438,030 candidates across 1,546 centers will sit the exams for final year junior high school (JHS) students.
The exams starts with English Language and Religious and Moral Education (RME) on Monday with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) scheduled to be the last paper on Friday, June 19.
The total number of candidates for this year’s exams is an increase of 15,084 over last year’s figure of 422,946.
A total of 15,326 invigilators will be deployed for the exams.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has assured of having put all the necessary measures in place to prevent any malpractices.
Ashanti Region registered the highest number of candidates with 87,815 while 12,521 – representing the least registered regional number – will write the exams in the Upper West Region.
