2016 edition of the Stanbic Jazz comes off June 24-26

The Stanbic Jazz Festival is here again!

Bob James, two-time Grammy Award-winner will headline the 2016 edition of the Stanbic Jazz Festival.

The festival which is scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Center from June 24-26, 2016 will also see other artistes like saxophonist Tom Braxton and a host of local acts like Aka Blay, Ayisah, Kyekyeku and Constant Boty.

Speaking at the launch of the festival in Accra on Wednesday, Head of Marketing and Communications at Stanbic Bank, Mawuko Afadzinu said: “Over the past three years we have been ensuring that the Stanbic Jazz Festival gains recognition as a stop on the global jazz calendar by presenting top-flight musicians to the people of Ghana”.

“This year we are presenting Bob James to cement the plan of making this a must-attend event on the jazz circuit,” he added.

The 2024 Pulse Influencer Awards, one of the most anticipated events in Ghana's digital space, is set to take place on 19th October at the De Icon Event Centre. This year's ceremony will be hosted by the talented Jay Foley, returning for his second consecutive time, alongside media professional Abena Soreno.

According to him Stanbic intends to develop and grow the jazz music industry in Ghana hence the decision to introduce the “training and skills development in all the related fields of technical production including sound engineering and lighting, marketing and PR, event management and hospitality.”

Mr. Afadzinu also revealed at the launch that Stanbic will use 20% of proceeds from the event  to support  the Leukemia Foundation of Ghana.

The three-day Stanbic Jazz Festival is co-sponsored by Vodafone Business Solutions, Labadi Beach Hotel, Graphic Communications Group limited Joy FM and Citi FM.
