The Manhyia Divisional Command in the Ashanti Region on Saturday retrieved guns with ammunitions from a house at Alabar, a suburb of Kumasi.
The Ashanti Regional Police Command has scheduled a press briefing on Monday to provide further details on the bust which is believed to be the biggest arms haul in the history of the Police in Kumasi.
The guns included AK47 and machine guns with ammunition. According to media reports, the Police upon a tip off stormed the house and arrested the individuals in charge of the weapons.
The matter has ignited comments on social media with people expressing concern about the safety of the general public in the lead up to the 2016 general elections.
