Ahead of their clash against Chelsea, Jeffrey Schlupp is likely to be given the nod by Sam Allardyce on Saturday given Patrick Van Aanholt's unavailability due to injury.

The marauding Dutch left back provides the attacking balance Crystal Palace need to thrive, but Ghanaian international, Schlupp, assures security at the back.

Just before the international break, the ex-Leicester City versatile defender was given a rare start - in defence - in a 1-0 win over Watford.

Schlupp was a member of Leicester's historic side that lifted the league title last season, making 24 appearances.

This season, however, he struggled for first team opportunities, and after only four appearances in the first half of the campaign, he thought the time was right to move on.
