Three robbers arrested for attacking passengers at Bibiani

Police in the Atwima Mponua district have arrested three persons in connection with an armed robbery attack on passengers on the Bibiani road. The suspects, namely Kofi Boakye, Michael Agyemang, and Emmanuel Alex, aka 'Kabobo', attacked and shot three of the persons, killing one of them.

Confirming the news, Divisional commander of Atwima Mponua District, DSP Kojo Asare Mensah said the incident happened Tuesday on the Bibiani Highway after the suspects attacked a vehicle and decided to take away the items of people.

He said another driver who was coming from the opposite direction and witnessed the incident decided not to stop but was shot at by the armed robbers, killing one person in the vehicle.

He said, upon a tip off, the police then formed two teams and followed the armed robbers into the forest. One of the suspects, 'Kabobo' however met his untimely death after two farmers shot at the robbers, DSP Mensah added.

Meanwhile, the district police commander has assured members of the community of maximum security.
