The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong was hooted at by party supporters who had gathered at the party's headquarters following reports of the office been ransacked by persons suspected to be supporters of suspended national chairman Paul Afoko.

According to reports, the crowed banged on the vehicle as his driver was unable to drive into the premises.

Fully armed Police personnel have taken over the party’s office to ensure peace at the premises and also cordoned off the premises preventing people from accessing the area.

George Andah, a parliamentary candidate in the Awutu Senya West constituency who was at the scene told Accra-based Joy FM 11 people have been arrested.

"From what we are gathering from the security men, two vehicles supposedly military vehicles with about six people in military uniform came to the party head office and said that they had heard that there was some confusion taking place but the security guys told them they was no confusion.

"They entered the place locked up the security men and broke into various offices at the headquarters carrying sacks. After they finished their operation, they came out and asked one of the security men to remove something from the sack they were carrying and put it back - apparently to get his finger prints....and they took him away", Mr Andah stated.

The incident comes after General Secretary of the party Kwabena Agyepong’s office was raided some few months ago.

Meanwhile suspended national chairman, Paul Afoko has also condemned the attack which occurred at Monday dawn.
