The flag bearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his campaign team have finally been able to cross the Dambai river to continue with their campaign tour of the Volta Region.

Reports indicated that the ferry had been trapped by a truck it was carrying across the river.

Some NPP officials and activists had earlier suspected sabotage.

An activist of the NPP on Facebook, Nana Hesse Ogyiri on his timeline said: “Nana Akufo-Addo was supposed to have crossed over from Dambai (Krachi East) into Krachi Nchumuru using the ferry. Coincidentally, of all the days, the ferry, we're told, a few minutes ago, has developed a fault. NDC is afraid of the massive reception given to Nana Addo. Communist Inferior Tactics at work. Our message of hope will still reach the people, nonetheless.”

The Regional Vice Chairman of the NPP Dr Archibald Letsa however said the party is still unperturbed by this development.
