The EC made this known after an IPAC meeting held on Friday.
EC suspends Election Steering committee
The 18-member election steering committee formed to strategise towards peaceful and credible polls has been suspended by the Electoral Commission (EC).
The Electoral Commission had earlier said it will not dissolve the election steering committee after allegations by some political parties including the New Patriotic Party that the committee was biased.
Pressure group, Let My Vote Count Alliance (LMVCA) had alleged that the steering committee is biased towards the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), and thus must be dissolved.
But, after an IPAC meeting on Thursday, the EC agreed to suspend the said Committee whiles it looks into the concerns being raised and deal with them accordingly.
Meanwhile, no political party raised any dissenting view on the matter.
