The Ghana Premier League (GPL) is set to commence after an Accra High Court on Wednesday threw out Gt. Olympics injunction against the start of the league.
Embattled Gt. Olympics submitted an interlocutory injunction to the Ghana Football Association to stop them from launching the Ghana Premier League, which compelled them to postpone the start of the GPL until further notice.
However, an Accra High Court on its second sitting threw out the case and gave the greenlight for the league to start.
The ‘Wonder Club’ suffered relegation last season but filed a protest against Bechem United for “want of jurisdiction” which would have handed them the opportunity to survive if it had gone in their favour.
But their case was dismissed by the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Committee.
Reports that have emerged say Congress which was also suspended following the injunction will begin next week, before the league kicks off in the first week of March.
