Injunction placed on commencing league
The GPL is in danger of not starting this weekend; following an injunction on the league by a football fan.
The solicitor of the plaintiff, Oseawour Chambers & Co and filed the injunction at the High Court of Justice on Thursday 18 February 2016 and served the GFA on Thursday evening.
Baba Alhassan, who claims to be a supporter of Real Atletico, a division one league side based in Tema secured the injunction because his idol club was excluded from the division without a just cause.
It is surprising that Alhassan didn’t secure the injunction to restrain the GFA from commencing the division one league alone, but included the Ghana Premier League, where his club doesn’t have any business to do with.
The Ghana Premier League is scheduled to start on Saturday 20th February.
