The Ghana Swimming Association has confirmed Ophelia Swayne has been suspended indefinitely.
Association president Theophilus Edzi confirmed to Starr FM Ophelia Swayne had been suspended saying:
“Ophelia could not swim in the World Championship knowing the advantage that happens there. Her club had expunged her for truancy during her training regime and because of that she lost a place in the national team.
"Just after, you (Swayne) come back accusing the Association of collecting bribe when you had the opportunity to qualify you failed."Before she comes back to the Association, she must render an unqualified apology to the Association and me.”

Andrew Forson, Kaya Forson’s father has denied the claims by Ophelia Swayne.
