Information reaching the Accra Times newspaper indicates that the NPP minority caucus boycotted the purported NEC meeting which was convened by the party’s 1st Vice-Chairman, Mr. Freddy Blay in his quest to oust Mr. Paul Afoko from his chair.

The NPP constitution makes provision for 20 seats for its MPs who are ranking members at the National Executive Committee.

According to our sources, the caucus held a meeting to decide whether to attend the purported meeting or not.

However, they resolved to boycott the meeting called by Freddy Blay on the grounds that he had no locus to convene a NEC meeting when the National Chairman was within the jurisdiction.

In a rather strange circumstance, Madam Ursula Owusu, MP, was in attendance even though she was not a member of NEC.

Mr. K. T Hammond who is the ranking member for energy defied his colleagues to attend the purported meeting.

It is believed that, these duo are in a payback mood since their demand to contest unopposed in their parliamentary primaries was disregarded by the party.

The party is now in a state of confusion as to who is its National Chairman.
