Ghanaian player debunks Schalke 04's biggest ever player claims

Kevin-Prince Boateng denies he said he is the biggest player in the history of German Bundesliga club Schalke 04.

The Las Palmas player joined the German club from Italian Serie A side AC Milan and played two full seasons plus half a third that was marred by controversies between him and Schalke 04.

Boateng returned to AC Milan in the  January transfer window where he played for the Serie A club till the end of the season.

Italian football website calciomercato.com reported Boateng says he is the greatest football player in the history of Schalke writing in their headline:

“Boateng: "I'm the greatest player in the history of Schalke, no-one is like me"

The website in their story quoted and interview by German maginze Kicker with Boateng saying:

“I think I left my impression at Schalke; even today when you read about the club my name is still mentioned. There has never been a player at the club that has created as much interest as me; this is the impression I’ve left behind. Positive or negative, I always tried to do my best to help the team. I could not do anymore”

Kevin-Prince Boateng who was not pleased with the headline took to his Twitter page to debunk the claims tweeting:

“Just for the record never said anything like it!! Because I respect the big players of Schalke in the past!!”

Kevin-Prince Boateng and his Las Palmas team will begin their Spanish La Liga season with an away game against Valencia on Monday.
