Papa Owusu Ankomah, a well-known Secondi Lawyer, five-term MP and former minister heads to UK as the nation’s High Commissioner. Dr Baffour Adjei Awuah, a former Ambassador to Japan heads to the USA while a former acting CHRAJ Commissioner, Mrs Anna Bossman, heads to Paris.
Papa Owusu Ankomah, a well-known Secondi Lawyer, five-term MP and former minister, heads to the UK as the nation’s High Commissioner. Dr Baffour Adjei Awuah, a former Ambassador to Japan heads to the USA while a former acting CHRAJ Commissioner, Mrs Anna Bossman, heads to Paris.
In addition, Mrs Gina Blay, CEO of Daily Guide Newspaper, has been assigned to Germany while Mr Fredrick Daniel Laryea heads to Ivory Coast. He was Ghana’s former Ambassador to Gambia, Mali and Cape Verde.
Stephen Mahamadu Yakubu, a respected former MP from the Upper East Region heads to Morocco while Alhaji Rashid Bawa goes to Africa’s powerhouse, Nigeria. He was Ghana’s past Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Edward Boateng, a media executive, has been appointed as Ghana’s ambassador to China.
In a speech, President Nana Akufo-Addo said they are “eminently fit” to represent Ghana in their respective places of accreditation which "indeed has expressed satisfaction at their appointments."
He said they have the responsibility of preserving and promoting the image of the country “whose reputation amongst the community of nation is high.”
President Akufo-Addo also urged the new ambassadors to “guard jealously the image of Ghana” in their respective appointed countries.
