AFCON 2017: Winners of Man of the Man awards after group stage

Players who distinguished themselves at the group level of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations

Below are the players who won the Man of the Match awards  of the 24 matches played in the group stage of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Gabon 1-1 Guinea Bissau

Man of the Match: Zezinho of Guinea Bissau

J.L Lopez, popularly known as Zezinho of Guinea Bissau was the first player to win the Man of the Match award in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. He did that in the opening game of the tournament when the debutants held the hosts Gabon to a 1-1 draw.

Algeria 2-2 Senegal

Riyad Mahrez of Algeria, the Africa Footballer of the Year, after he scored twice in that  game.

Senegal 2-2 Tunisia

Diallo, the goalkeeper of Senegal won the Man of the Match to emerge as the only goalkeeper to  win the award

Lalawele Atakora of Togo. He is a winger or forward.

Dr Congo 1-0 Morocco

Mbark Boussoufa an attacking midfielder of Morocco. He is so far the only player to win the Man of the Match award from the losing end.

Ghana 1-0 Uganda

Christian Atsu, an attacking midfielder of Ghana

Mali 0-0 Egypt

Moussa Marega of Mali. He plays as striker.

Gabon 2-2 Burkina

Denis Boaunga of Gabon is a midfielder for Gabon

Cameroon 2-1 Guinea Bissau

Christian Bassogog of Cameroon.He is an attacking midfielder
