According to reports, Atik attempted resisting the move but failed.

The party said the move was necessary because Atik always sneak into the office at the headquarters.

Atik Mohammed was suspended indefinitely over comments he made about the appointment of Dr Edward Mahama as the Ambassador-at-Large by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He was charged with bringing the party's name into disrepute at the party's extraordinary National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Meanwhile, lawyer for Atik Mohammed has written a letter to the party on behalf of his client.

Mr Samson Lardy Anyenini of A-partners@Law in the letter said the suspension of his client is in violation of the party’s constitution and hence the party must rescind the decision.
