Nana Addo expresses concern on recent spate of road accidents

President Akufo-Addo has expressed worry about the recent increase in road accidents across the country.

According to him, it is alarming the number of injuries and deaths recorded as a result of road accidents in the past few months.

On Tuesday different road accidents were recorded around the country following a heavy downpour.

Four persons were feared dead after a crash at Tantra, with others also sustaining various degrees of injury.

In a Facebook post the President wrote:

“I am very concerned about the recent spate of road accidents, and the ensuing deaths and injuries. I have asked the Ministers for the Interior, Roads and Highways, and Transport to meet and come out with proposals immediately, to address this critical issue in order to improve the safety of our roads.”

Also, dancehall sensation Ebony Reigns also passed on last Thursday after being involved in a fatal car crash on the Kumasi-Sunyani highway.

The singer died alongside two other persons, believed to be her personal assistant and bodyguard.

President Akufo-Addo believes critical steps must be taken to ensure that safety on our roads are guaranteed.

He has, therefore, tasked some of his ministers to see to it that recent spate of road accidents in the country is curtailed.
