Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Nhyiaeso constituency in the Ashanti region, Dr. Richard Anane has lost in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Primaries.
Before the elections, one of the Parliamentary aspirants contesting the Nhyiaeso constituency seat, Awa Abdul Aziz, bowed out of the race to support Dr. Anane to “bring Nana Addo into power.”
Dr. Anane had 110 votes as against 247 by Kennedy Kankam. Other contestants, Kwaku Appiah Minka and Stephen Amoah had 80 and 164 votes respectively.
Kennedy Kankam who has won, until recently, was the party’s Regional Organizer.
