It was Ghana’s third appearance at the FIFA World Cup and it was just 2 days after the opening game when Rihanna popped up, throwing her weight behind the Black Stars.
The multiple award-winning Barbadian singer gave her support to Ghana for a reason – it was because of the ladies’ man on the team, Kevin-Prince Boateng.
Kevin, who was born to a German mother Christine Rahn and a Ghanaian father Prince Boateng, stole the spotlight at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil with his prepossessing look.

Rihanna, who couldn’t hide her love for Kevin, took to Twitter on June 16, 2014, to crush on the darling star.
The “Umbrella” hitmaker, whose legal name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, tweeted a photo of Kevin with the caption: “Da Bae doe! I might have to be team Ghana on this one idc idc idc”.
Ghanaians on Twitter including Afro-Dancehall musician Stonebwoy, rapper Joey B and actress Yvonne Nelson got excited and quickly reacted to the tweet.
