Residents of Mpasatia in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region have started fleeing the area after waking up to find the blood-soaked corpse of a murdered woman whose vagina had been completely removed.

The woman had a wide hole between her thighs where her vagina used to be.

The deceased, 65 year old Maame Eno Akua Bredu a farmer, went missing since Monday only for her corpse to be discovered on Tuesday evening, after a search.

Vital parts of her body including her hearts, tongue and genitals were removed.

Residents believe she was murdered for ritual purposes.

A team of police personnel from the Nkawie Police Station in the Atwima Mponua District, who rushed to the scene, conveyed the corpse to the Hospital morgue and commenced investigations into the matter.
