Michael Essien is back to training with Persib Bandung following jail sentence scare for breaching Indonesia immigration laws.

Essien and Carlton Cole made the news for the  wrong reasons on Tuesday after playing in Indonesia without a work permit. The duo could have been fined or face jail sentences of up to five years for flouting Indonesia immigration laws.

They were susequently banned from playing in Indonesia until their permits are ready, yet following an invitation by the office of the Immigration Class I on Thursday, charges of fine and jail were dropped after the duo underwent series of checks.

Essien and Cole afterwards have returned to training with Persib Bandung on Friday morning at the Pakansari Stadium.
