Mark Wahlberg has confirmed his return as Cade Yeager in the upcoming 2017 "Transformers 5."
Wahlberg who played Cade Yeager, a Texas inventor and mechanic in the In the fourth film, “Age of Extinction,” made the confirmation in an interview with CinePop.
"Transformers 5" is set to be written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who wrote Marvel's "Iron Man," alongside Ken Nolan.
Transformers is a series of American science fiction action films directed by Michael Bay, and based on the toys created by Hasbro and Tomy.
The already released 1st four movies in the franchise, has grossed almost $3.8billion worldwide.
In 2007, ‘Transformers’ was the 45 highest grossing film, and the fifth highest grossing film of the year, grossing approximately $709 million worldwide.
In 2009, its sequel ‘Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen’ grossed more than it’s prequel, despite its negative reviews.

In 2011, was released, and went on to gross over $1 billion, despite receiving mixed reviews.
In 2014, the 4th film in franchise ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ was released, and also grossed over $1 billion, bringing in in $320 million just from China.
Its next installment titled ‘Transformers 5’ is scheduled for a Summer 2017 release.
