Dad impregnates daughter, connives with lover to terminate the pregnancy

A statement from the Command, has it that the Akwa Ibom State born Michael who is separated from the girl's mother, began having sex with her when she was 14-years-old and when she became pregnant this year, he and his lover, Ijeoma Ndukwe, took her to a clinic and aborted the baby.

Michael's sins came back to haunt him after a neighbour at their 5 Kode Street, Mende, Maryland, residence, identified as Uche, reported the case to the police after the suspect had earlier defiled Uche's 18-months-old daughter by dipping his finger into her private part and the police refused to act on the report.

The aggrieved Uche said:

“My wife wanted to bathe our child and discovered she had a tear inside her private part. Before then, it was only Michael that was with the baby inside his room.

Upon confirmation from the Mende Health Centre that our daughter had been violated, I contacted my lawyer. I also informed the police, so that he could be prosecuted. But the police swept the matter under the carpet. They said there was no tangible evidence.

When I heard from Maria’s friends that her father impregnated her and procured abortion for her, with the help of his lover, I decided I would not allow Michael to escape once again.

We interviewed Maria separately and she confessed that her father has been sleeping with her for over two years now. She said the last time he had sex with her was on July 8.”

A police source who confirmed Michael's arrest, said:

“Ijeoma is the man’s girlfriend, not wife. When she discovered something was wrong with the girl, she told Michael. He suggested Ijeoma should take her to hospital.

When they got to the hospital, it was discovered that the girl was pregnant. Ijeoma interviewed the girl and learnt it was her father who impregnated her. Ijeoma went home and confronted Michael. He confessed to her.

They both agreed to abort the pregnancy. One of their neighbours learnt about the abortion and alerted the appropriate authority. Ijeoma and Michael were arrested.”

Another neighbour also corroborated Uche's statement to the police, saying the Michael is fond of molesting little children in the neighbourhood and has been a sexual terror since he packed into the house in 2003.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Supol Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest of the suspect, saying he and Ndukwe would be charged to court after proper investigation into the matter by the police.

"The case is under investigation. All the accomplices including the nurse who carried out the abortion and the stepmother have been arrested and are undergoing interrogation while the victim is under protective custody in a shelter."
