It could easily be mistaken for a work of art but this amazing effect didn't come from an artists brush or a stencil - it came from a real bird.

This incredible and beautiful impression was left on the door at Margie Doyle's home after crashing into a glass patio door at full speed.

The near-perfect imprint shows the head, outstretched wings and body of the unfortunate creature.

Mrs Doyle, said the misguided bird was nowhere to be seen after the crash - leading to hopes it may have escaped the high-speed smash unhurt.

Margie noticed the impression on her patio doors immediately she returned home.

She said: "I don't know what happened, I came home and there was a full impression of the bird - but the bird was gone.

"I expected it to be dead but it was not there, just this impression."
