As the Christmas and New Year festive period approaches, businesses devise various strategic means to maximise sales, and some churches across the world are doing same.

However, a certain Nigerian pastor seems to have gone a bit overboard with his demand of money from his congregation.

A video circulating online shows the man of God asking his members to give a minimum of £700 (Ghs 3,392.44) so he would spray them with a special perfume that has the power to eliminate what he referred to as spiritual odour.

According to him, once he sprays the said perfume on the members, the spiritual odour that keeps attracting spiritual attacks would become a thing of the past.

The video has generated reactions on social media with some users criticising the clergyman, saying he adopted that strategy to make money at the expense of ignorant members.

Well, one cannot disagree entirely with the pastor when he said that the ‘enemy’ slaps its victims with an odour that makes them recognisable and spiritually vulnerable wherever they go, but the amount of money he demanded in order to help the members is what is in contention.
