Marriage, according to the Christian norm, should be between one man and one woman. But the Islam and Traditional religions have made rooms for more than one wife, with the former allowing a man to marry up to four wives, on the condition that he can take care of them all equally.
A Pulse reader, Maryam,a Muslim, sent in a letter stating her dilemma as her husband is hell bent on getting married to her best friend.
Part of letter reads:

I was taken by surprise when I further realised that they had gone far with the arrangements and a date had even been fixed before he told me.
I have confronted Altine but she told me she has accepted to marry my husband. As a Muslim, I know my husband is at liberty to marry more than one wife but must it be my friend?"
