This has been an incessant debate and some women are opposed to the idea of taking their husband’s surnames as it has always been the case since time immemorial.

Most times, their reason for objecting to the trend is fairness and purposes of feminism.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian TV host, Lolo Cynthia who shared her controversial view about the subject matter has been suffering lots of backlash from social media users since the day she made her opinion public.

A viral video circulating online shows her saying she would only compromise her surname for that of her husband on condition that he is so successful and influential that, adopting his surname would open doors for her.

Cynthia’s viewpoint has triggered negative reactions from social media users, some of whom have called her an opportunist who would do anything to lick the ass of her husband in his good moments, but disrespect him if the wealth is no more.
