Djimba World Productions is bringing back Ghanaian superstar, Wiyaala, to the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill this Saturday, 12th December with her band, The Djimba World Band, to excite patrons with another unique and entertaining spectacle of contemporary African live music at its best.
The uber talented Upper West singer, described by CNN as “mesmerising”, says that besides performing her popular hits, she will sing live remixes of her collaborations with international and Ghanaian artistes in 2015, including the international award winning Afrobian hit “This Is Who I Am” with Moroccan star, Ahmed Soultan, “All I Want” with the Afrima 2014 Award winners, Dearzim, from Zimbabwe, “Hiisi” with South African activists Mzee & Rafiki, “Mama” with Afrima nominated alternative Rock Band Dark Suburb, “Power to the People” with youth advocate AJ Nelson and “Real Woman” with Ghana’s BET award winning Dancehall Queen, MzVee.
Wiyaala says she loves performing at +233 Jazz Bar & Restaurant, which she regards as Ghana’s leading stage for excellence in live music. Since breaking out in 2013, Wiyaala has chalked up more than seventy live appearances including international festivals in Canada, Germany, Holland, Nigeria and South Africa.
This show and the much anticipated homecoming concert with Rocky Dawuni on the 18 December at the Alliance Francaise, are expected to be Wiyaala’s last live appearances in Accra until late 2016.
