Dr. Pimple Popper Pops an 'Olive Pit' Cyst
  • In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper fights with a pilar cyst that looks like a pruny olive pit.
  • Though Dr. Lee tries to pop the growth out in one eyeball-like piece, she ends up puncturing the cyst and draining it to get it out.
  • The cyst has hair dye embedded in its keratin contents, causing a strange olive pit-like color.

Forget eating the olive out of your next martini. In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD pops a pilar cyst out of a patients head. And the removal will surely make you spit out that pruny olive pit real fast.

In the clip, Dr. Lee attempts to pop out the cyst through a small incision. The cyst proves to be a fighter, hanging on with determination. Eventually, Dr. Pimple Popper punctures the cyst and squeezes it between her fingers to allow the gunky contents to flow out.

One fan commented the contents was reminiscent of an olive seed. Though the fan is referring to an olive pit rather than an olive seed, the comparison is grossly accurate.

At the end of the video, Dr. Lee snips out the cysts sac wall , which should prevent the cyst from returning. After all, no one likes a lingering olive pit.

Pilar cysts are growths on the scalp that contain excess keratin , which is the protein that makes up your hair and nails. In this particular cyst, Dr. Lee comments that hair dye is present within the cyst, coloring its contents. While that is quite alarming on a chemical-based level, it also makes the pop that much more grotesque.
