Sources reveal that the German automaker, Mercedes-Benz, unveiled its sleek, portable power unit on Tuesday.

Crafted with the same kind of luxury design the automaker applies to its cars, the energy storage units have an energy content of 2.5 kWh each, and are also equipped to supplement the energy needs of households already using solar energy.

According to reports, the company isn't offering much more information than that, but says users can combine eight of the energy storage units to create an even more robust personal power plant for homes or businesses, delivering an overall capacity of 20 kWh.

Mercedes-Benz will show the devices off at the upcoming IntersolarExpo in Munich, Germany later this week.
