Ah the good ol' days. It might mean simpler times pre-smartphones and Instagram or truly messy pops. Dermatologist Sandra Lee, MD, aka Dr. Pimple Popper , is bringing on the nostalgia with her new Youtube video.
Her title for the extended Youtube video gives a good preview of what's about to go down: "A blackhead and a previously inflamed cyst that tunnels back." She added, "We've got a two-fer today! A Blackhead and a pesky cyst that decided to crawl back to the surface."
It may look like a tough prospect, but Dr. Pimple Popper is ready with her trusty comedone extractor. She explains in the description: "Blackheads are usually caused by a pore that gets clogged with keratin (skin protein) and sebum (oil). Given the black color many believe these spots are clogged with dirt, but really its the exposure to air that oxidizes the clogged pore and turns it black."
Peep the whole feature-length blackhead pop here:
That's not all she's dealing with on this pop. This blackhead has fused with an epidermoid cyst. (Mind blown.) Dr. Pimple Popper explains in the description: "An epidermoid cyst is a non-cancerous growth commonly found on the skin of the face or neck, but can occur anywhere on the body. These cysts occur as a result of epidermal cells, cells from the top layer of your skin a.k.a the epidermis, overgrow in a confined space."
The extended Youtube video shows the entire pop from beginning to end. Dr. Pimple Popper starts small with a little incision and expands as she discovers how deep the cyst tunnels. She uses all her tools, comedone extractor, scissors, and a curette. One fan added, "I missed these kind of videos " Same! Now, you have a whole new video whenever you need a wave of nostalgia.
