Is Cheer coming back for season two?

Unfortunately, that news is currently "off the mat." There's no official word from Netflix whether season two is happening or not (womp womp). However, according to Esquire, if there is going to be a second round of Cheer, expect Netflix to make the big announcement sometime around the beginning of February.

That said, they're kind of already dropping hints. The streaming service has been keeping tabs on Navarro's cheer members. Just yesterday, they tweeted about cheerleader Lexi, who's officially back on the Navarro College team after getting in trouble with campus police at the end of the first season.

don't know who needs to hear this, but... Lexi is back at Navarro!!!! Netflix US (@netflix)

What can I expect from Cheer season two?

If everyone's Texas-sized prayers are answered, there will be more team drama, more grit, more jaw-dropping stunts, and of course, more Coach Monicaya know, what the best docuseries are made of.

In the meantime, you can always rewatch the Navarro cheer team's 2019 Showoff performance:

Will the original cast of Cheer return?

Well, considering the team's coach Monica Aldamawho's quickly become an icon for dedicationhas been coaching the team for 24 years, there's a pretttttty good chance she'll return for season two (if it happens). And, considering Lexi and

Jerry Harris just announced they were returning to Navarro

on their respective Instagrams, they could definitely be featured in the new season, too.

As for cheer-lebrity Gabi Butler , her Instagram bio currently reads, "TopGun00 19-20," which likely means she's on a team at TopGun Cheer and Dance .

Morgan Simianer , meanwhile, appears to be going toor is at least consideringattending and cheering at Texas Tech, per her Instagram.

And, last but certainly not least, La'Darius Marshall appears to have left the cheer world for that of the Instagram Influencer. His bio currently says, "Cheerleader turned Public Figure," so it's doubtful he'll be returning to the mat at the moment.
