In the Instagram post, shared Saturday, Selma looked back on her life a year ago in May 2018 with a throwback photo. "This was a year ago," Selma wrote, captioning a photo of herself riding her horse, Mr. Nibbles. "I knew I was always exhausted . But I could ride and show and love every second. Now, it is hard to even walk with a cane when [a] day is too much."
Selma shared that photo (along with quite a few others) while at a hunter derby in which her horse, Mr. Nibbles, was competing. Selma was only able to be a spectator over the weekend, but that didn't stop her from thinking towards the future: "I have no regrets. Just the knowledge I will ride and jump again. #ms #knockeddown not out."
Selma also shared photos from the weekend that showed her getting around the riding competition on her Alinker "walking bike." "Serious #ms game. #horseshowsaturday," she wrote in the caption. "Just walking around the grounds on my @the_alinker_world."
Selma said she needed to her use her "walking bike" to get around the horse show because she had simply moved a little too much the previous days. "I have fit more than I am used to in a couple of days," Selma wrote. "I wanted to ride. But I cannot even walk with a cane today. So I spent the day on this amazing invention. And I will sleep until tomorrow. Soon. But this was huge."
Finally, after a busy few days Selma posted a photo of herself in bed under the covers. "Im done," she wrote. "Be kind to the ones you love who might frustrate you because they need to pull the covers up. If they can even get to bed. I was on kitchen floor resting...til I made it here all comfy cozy."
Clearly, Selma's not letting her MS stop her from doing what she wants to do-even if that means she's extra exhausted afterwards.
