Arsene Wenger insists he would take Europa League serious if they exit UCL

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that they would take the UEFA Europa League serious if they crash out of the Champions League.

The Gunners are on the verge of a group stage exit from Champions League as they get set to host Dinamo Zagreb on the night of Tuesday, November 24 with just one point from four games.

Arsenal need to win Zagreb and hope win against Olympiacos before they travel to Greece to battle for the second spot of the group.

If these doesn't happen, Arsenal would have to play in the Europa League and Wenger says he would take the competition serious.

“We would take the competition seriously - but we are not out (of the Champions League) yet,” Wenger said.

“I believe that this problem is exaggerated a little bit in England because we play Wednesday and Saturday, so it is the same as Thursday and Sunday. I can't see the difference.

“There are plenty of examples in Portugal and Spain where teams have taken it seriously and won the championship. Benfica are the example, Sevilla have done well.”
