Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis must be aiming for a new standard in toughness.

Not only has he guaranteed he’ll play in Super Bowl 50, but Davis has also revealed he will do so with plenty of metal in his arm.

"A plate and probably around 11 or 12 screws in my arm right now. It is what it is,” Davis told reporters.

Davis underwent surgery on Monday after suffering a fractured right forearm against the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC championship game.

Davis and the Panthers’ medical staff are trying out different protective gear to enable him to play on February 7.
